Description
USS Hermitage was a Thomaston class dock landing ship commissioned in 1956 and provided transportation for President Dwight D Eisenhower on his Asian and European tour in 1959. LSD 34 participated in Operation Steel Pike exercises. She transferred to the Brazilian Navy in 1989.
