Description

NAS Brunswick was reactivated March 15, 1951 to serve as the home for FAW 3. As of July 31, 1957 the home port for FAW 3 was at NAS Brunswick but it was later disestablished June 30, 1971. The mission of Fleet Air Wing THREE was the operational and administrative control of the patrol squadrons stationed at NAS Brunswick. The primary mission of these squadrons was anti-submarine warfare, with a secondary mission of aerial mining.
