Description

SUBMARINE VETERANS DISTRICT SEVEN The foundation of the U.S. Submarine Veterans organization is at the Base level. It is here where SubVet members realize their personal and fraternal goals and objectives. It is here, joining with old and new Shipmates, that they find and enjoy the camaraderie and social relationships that come with being a SubVet member. The Base Executive Board, together with the Base's elected and appointed officers and committeemen provide the necessary administrative and functional line management that is important to the achievement of Base activities, plans, programs and objectives that support and enhance the US SubVet fraternal bond and overall SubVet experience. To provide a two-way communication channel and other support, administrative and functional activities to and for these Bases on a timely basis, the Nation is divided into three Regions; Eastern, Central and Western, each under the direction of a Regional Director. The Regions are subdivided into ten Districts, under the direction of a District Commander to which the Nation's States and the Bases within them, are assigned. District Seven, reporting to the Central Region, is responsible for the administrative and multileveled communication functions, vertically with the National officers and committeemen, and horizontally to, from, among and between, the Bases of the District, the Region and the National organization. District Seven covers the States of: 1. Iowa (with a Base in Cedar Rapids (The Iowa Base) and a Base in Des Moines (The Placoderm Base). 2. Minnesota (with a Base in the Minneapolis, St. Paul Metropolitan Area (The Minneapolis/St. Paul Base), and a Base in Duluth (The Western Lake Superior Base). 3. Nebraska (With a Base that Meets in a different location throughout the State of Nebraska (The Nebraska Base), 4. North Dakota now has a Base , USS Robalo, in Fargo. 5. South Dakota now has a Base, USS Scorpion (SS 278) in Yankton.
