I flew with VP-9 from 1972 through 1977. Typically during an eighteen month cycle, we would deploy to the Far East with VP-9 following VP-40 and VP-46 following us. From our homebase at NAS Moffett Field, we shared one of the two blimp hangers with either VP-40 or VP-46 (along with VP-19, VP-47, VP-48, VP-50 and VP-91). Best years of my 25 years in the Navy.
